Dissertation: Optical and Computational Tools for Medical Imaging, advised by Prof. Adam de la Zerda; First lab member; developed optical design, signal processing, and computer vision tools for optical coherence tomography (OCT) and hyperspectral microscopy, publishing 4 first-author journal papers.
Stanford Ignite (Graduate School of Business, Jun – Jul 2016): Completed a certificate program providing business fundamentals for entrepreneurship, working with a small team to develop a business model and commercialization plan for one of my PhD medical imaging projects.
Speckle-Modulating OCT (SM-OCT)
Eliminated coherent speckle noise in Optical Coherence Tomography using a diffusing element, revealing cellular-scale structures in living tissue and the human retina.
MOZART: Contrast-Enhanced Spectral OCT with Large Gold Nanorods
Engineered large gold nanorods and spectral signal reconstruction for non-invasive 3D visualization of lymphatic drainage, valve function, and tumor microvasculature in vivo.
Hyperspectral Dark-Field Microscopy (HSM-AD)
Adaptive detection and machine learning classification (SVM/k-means) of single plasmonic nanoparticles inside scattering biological tissues.
Interactive Volumetric Medical Imaging in Virtual Reality & Face Masker
Built a real-time 60 FPS volumetric 3D OCT renderer for Oculus Rift (EE 267) and an Android face detection + OpenGL dynamic illumination blending app (EE 368).
